About the Event
The 2021 MLK Observance in Fountain Park in St. Louis, Missouri is being sponsored by Centennial Christian Church, Central West End Church, Fountain Park Lewis Place Neighbors, Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. – Epsilon Lambda Chapter, Epsilon Lambda Charitable Foundation, Inc., and Washington Montessori School of St. Louis Public Schools.
Fountain Park is home to the only statue in the St. Louis region dedicated to Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Last year, the statue was refurbished to a new unveiling and standing ovation by residents, community supporters, and elected leaders along with government officials with coverage by local news outlets.
The pandemics of racism and Covid-19 have contributed to harmful health outcomes for Blacks and other communities of color. This is the reason that the 2021 theme will be Dr. King's quote, “Of all the forms of inequality, injustice in health care is the most shocking and inhumane.”
The 2021 MLK Observance at Fountain Park in St. Louis will feature a number of events for people of all ages. These events will be announced in the coming days.
